Overview

City Spark is an online store based in London (E3) offering heating, plumbing, bathroom, kitchen, electrical, and related trade supplies with over 25 years of industry presence. The site supports browsing by product categories such as boilers, radiators, renewables, tools, and electrical parts, and includes customer features like secure payment options, delivery information, and account management. At the time of design, the site displayed product listings, order tracking, secure payments, and customer service sections, but suffered from outdated layouts and unclear navigation, which made it harder for users to find products and complete purchases efficiently.

Solution

I redesigned City Spark’s mobile and responsive web experience to improve product discovery, browsing clarity, and purchase flows. Starting with a simplified navigation and category hierarchy, I optimized the way users search and filter trade products and parts. Product pages were designed to present essential details clearly (name, price, category), with prominent call-to-actions for Add to Basket and delivery info. I focused on making core actions—search, browse, add to basket, and checkout—faster and easier for both retail and trade customers. The design emphasized clear account access, order tracking, and support options to reduce friction across key user journeys.
