CGA's Field Workforc Attentence Management System is a mobile-first platform designed for a deskless workforce. The product replaces manual check-ins and unreliable tracking methods by giving both employees and employers a clear, consistent way to manage attendance in real working conditions often outdoors, under time pressure, and with low digital familiarity.
I designed a location-aware mobile attendance experience using geofencing and biometric verification to automate check-ins while keeping the flow simple for non-technical, deskless workers. By replacing complex forms with a minimalist onboarding flow, new employees could start shifts within minutes of installing the app. The UX prioritized fast completion, outdoor readability, and clear success/error feedback so users always knew their attendance status. I also added real-world exception handling (out-of-zone reason capture) and transparent hour/location logs to reduce confusion while maintaining accountability.
Reduced attendance friction and manual tracking effort through automated check-in flows
The attendance process starts when an employee opens the app and taps Check In. The system first verifies the user’s identity through biometric authentication, then automatically checks whether the user is inside the assigned work location using geofencing. If the user is in range, attendance is recorded instantly and a clear success confirmation is shown with time and location details. If the user is outside the allowed zone, the app explains why the check-in cannot be completed and provides an exception flow, where the employee can submit a reason for approval. After check-in, the user can view their daily log, past attendance history, and status updates to confirm that the record was saved correctly.
